Why don’t we have a peanut butter version of SweetCheeksTreats?

Peanut butter has been embraced as one of the worlds most beloved comfort foods! And many think nothing of sharing this tasty snack with our pups.

However, recent studies have brought to light that foods high in oxalates may very well be a stressor for mammals, resulting in joint pain and kidney damage. And the smaller the mammal the more work it is for the kidneys to rid this toxin from the body.

It is for this reason we focus on ingredients that will keep the oxalate count of our treats as low as a possible. And it is the reason we do not offer a peanut butter version in our snack line up.

Have a look at the following. This will explain why we don’t include Peanut Butter in our recipe, and why we HAVE selected White Rice flour as the cookie binder.

We believe in the simplicity of; why knowingly stress your pet’s body with anything that’s only going to result in their immune system having to clean up the mess..
